Being forced to watch every existing Episode with my partner a few years ago - for the first time :D . It's awesome, I get what he means now! Since then we've been eagerly awaiting the release of each new movie together. "I love you", "I know".

My favourite Star Wars memory is a recent one: watching the recent animated Star Wars series (especially the lego ones) with my 2 year old son then running around the house playing 'pew pew' with our lightsabers made from paper towel tubes

  • Benjamin says: 4 May 2018, 8:17am

My favourite star wars memory is getting lego starwars for Xbox and having long sessions of jamming it with friends to complete the whole game.

  • Jordan says: 4 May 2018, 8:23am

Favourite memory is after I first saw Star Wars a New Hope as a kid (early 80s) and being so excited and telling my dad all about it, with him smiling and pretending he hadn't seen it himself years before. Then the realisation that he too was a Star Wars fan. Miss my dad.

  • Dinesh says: 4 May 2018, 8:25am

My best moment is The pod race scene with the amazing sound effects, designs and the dirty scrappy racing holding you to the edge of your seat. The young slave boy who would become the most famous villain in movie history!!

  • cherie says: 4 May 2018, 8:32am

My best memory is sitting around a record player listening to return of the jedi with the picture book .... I'm that old ? now I have 4 starwars loving boys and still have the record

Discovering Imgur and seeing the below image, realizing what Anakin had done and that I was just an innocent child and had no understanding of what happened until I saw that image. Best franchise ever.

  • Dylan says: 4 May 2018, 8:37am

Unfortunately it's not your typical, i watched a movie and loved it. But more so that I'm such a huge fan of the knights of the old republic fan, love the lore and all the story, i religiously replay kotor 1 and 2 every year, but it's the memory of while i was a child playing xbox original getting into the kotor world for the very first time, and getting so excited, being able to be good or bad light or dark and being able to shape the world around you. Love it haha, i would love this PlayStation so much, I've literally just started kotor again yesterday. Like i say... religiously haha

  • Matthew says: 4 May 2018, 8:40am

Slowly realizing that senator Palpatine is in fact plotting a greater demise. Such quotes as "A surprise to be sure, but a welcomed one." was foreshadowing his true reveal as the Sith Lord.

  • Emily says: 4 May 2018, 8:40am

Star Wars has always been huge in my family right from the get go, and all these years later nothing makes me prouder than seeing my own five year old padawan sitting down and 'reading' her Star Wars Little Golden Books.

  • Tash says: 4 May 2018, 8:40am

Being growled at by my Mum for sitting on the floor of the cinema, hiding from the screen because i was scared shitless of the movie

  • Rens says: 4 May 2018, 8:44am

My best memory must be the early hours of May 17th 2002, Midnight showing of Episode II. Me and my best mate were attending in Cinema Palace, Haarlem, the Netherlands (a cinema I noticed last time I was back home in the Netherlands sadly got converted to a retail store :-( ) Anyways we are watching and loving Attack of the Clones. Taking in every second in awe..... then.... Yoda encounters count Dooku, loving the "Force" show off, then Dooku pulls his lightsaber and yoda casually gets his out, the following minutes saw my yaw hitting the floor. At the end of all this the theatre burst out in applause, something I never encountered, realising all these people just been awed by the same thing I was to an extent we could not contain ourselves and needed to express the awe!

  • James says: 4 May 2018, 8:44am

My favourite memory is 12 or so years ago. My partner had never seen any of the star wars films so we watched all 6 (No force awakens or last jedi yet) in a row. Needless to say it was a time consuming yet entirely necessary mission. Watching her reactions reminded me how amazing this epic space opera was.

  • Tom says: 4 May 2018, 8:44am

It used to be sitting with my dad when I was a little kid and watching the movies together. Now its when I get to sit with my 4 year old son and watch one of the movies together.

  • Gary says: 4 May 2018, 8:45am

I had all the star wars toy figures and most of the vehicles as a kid, I loved them and played with them all the time.
When I was older I found out some of the rarer ones might be worth something, I couldnt find them in the loft, turned out my dad sold them cheap at a car boot without me knowing ?

  • Sarah says: 4 May 2018, 8:45am

Star Wars is something I do with my little brother. I love watching the movies with him, and going to see the new ones at the flicks with him. My favourite recent memory is the 2 hour discussion we had over whisky after watching The Last Jedi.

  • Huy says: 4 May 2018, 8:45am

I know Star Wars Episode 1 has a lot of bad reps but that movie actually has made me become a huge fan since 1999. So many days of my teenager years were used to dig through countless of expanded universe stories on wookieepedia, video games, and comics. Wish Disney would have kept these priceless stories because many of them are actually very good.

  • Matt says: 4 May 2018, 8:46am

Watching my eldest son start to enjoy star wars and going through the animated series and movies again with him

  • Simon says: 4 May 2018, 8:46am

  • Victor says: 4 May 2018, 8:48am

Seeing Episode 1 for the first time. Even though the prequels get alot a flak, being 11 at the time the bad acting/script didn't register with me. It was all about the Pod Racing, the Droid army, and Darth Maul!

So many to choose from, but going to see Return of the Jedi with my brother and sister and Dad in Wellington when we were kids was pretty cool.

  • Nicole says: 4 May 2018, 8:50am

When I was around twelve, my two best friends and I would have frequent "Star Wars sleepovers" where we would marathon the six movies overnight. Besides the insane amount of snack food, we also had little traditions, e.g. the scene in attack of the clones where Anakin and Padme drink wine and eat space pears - we would crack open a bottle of sparkling grape juice and chop up some pear. And of course there was a lot of recreating lightsaber battles! Those memories hold a special place in my heart for sure.

  • Rachelle says: 4 May 2018, 8:50am

  • Kim says: 4 May 2018, 8:52am

Dad was excited for the movies and took us kids along to see The Phantom Menace... unfortunately for him we were more interested in rolling snifters down the aisle! But it was a fun bonding moment, and we have paid more attention to Star Wars since then!

  • Maria says: 4 May 2018, 8:59am

My favourite memory was getting to watch the Empire Strikes Back at the movies when it first came out. Back then you could buy a'movie book', which had the story and photos from the movie. I still have mine, all these years later. My kids both enjoyed me reading it to them. Made us a Star wars family! May the force be with you!

  • Emma says: 4 May 2018, 9:01am

When I first saw The Phantom Menace, I was a child and was completely obsessed. Then KFC released a range of Phantom menace toys. I managed to convince my parents to get me a couple but I really wanted the set. I set about making a list on how I could earn enough money to get the entire set, and every time I had $5 I would make the walk from our home to KFC to get another toy. The people at KFC eventually caught on and put them aside for me so I could get the complete set once I had the money, the 4th time I went in the manager asked me which ones I still needed. I told him and he gave them all to me for $5. I will never forget, and still have the toys to this day!

My sixth birthday, May 9th 1978, sitting in a cinema finally getting to see this movie that all my friends had been talking about for a while. An obsession that's about to hit 40 years was begun when the enormous Star Destroyer swooped overhead, and every birthday and Christmas for years after was all about Star Wars toys. Even now I still make an effort to get a little bit of Star Wars into every birthday somehow. So if I win this, could you deliver it next Wednesday? That'd rock.

  • Jacqui says: 4 May 2018, 9:07am

Watching the original movies with my now passed Dad.

Who would have ever guessed Darth Vader is Luke Skywalker's father?”

  • Craig says: 4 May 2018, 9:08am

  • Allan says: 4 May 2018, 9:09am

My favourite Star Wars memory to date is going into Episode 7 and feeling all the nostalgia coming back with Carrie Fisher, Harrison Ford and Chewie all reunited! The atmosphere in that cinema was great, the hype was unreal. Can't wait for Episode 9! (Hopefully it makes up for how trash Episode 8 was)

My grandma got me an OG Darth Vadar plastic lightsaber for Christmas when I was about 7. The really old ones where the blade didn't even retract all the way into the handle. Looking back, it was super clunky and cheap, and it broke pretty much immediately, but at the time it was the coolest thing I owned.

When Revenge of the Sith came out, my mate and I dressed up as Anakin and Sidious. We went to a midnight screening at The Embassy Theatre and dragged our poor, suffering girlfriends along. When we got there, we were like "Ohhhh, noooo! We're the only two nerds in costume!" I could feel the embarrassment radiating off my girlfriend.

Fortunately, more people arrived in costume, including someone who was in a full tuxedo but wearing a Boba Fett helmet. Some dude dressed as Obi-wan demanded that I duel him. It was a great night and fun was had by all. Everyone enjoyed the movie and people clapped at the end. I enjoyed it so much I went and saw it again about 12 hours later. Just such happy memories associated with what we thought at the time was the sunset of Star Wars.

My favourite memory is the tradition I've created with my 16 year old daughter to see the movie whenever a new installment is released.

She was in Germany when The Last Jedi was released, so I had to wait until she returned to see it. She did get to see it there before me, but the dialog was in German, with no subtitles.

She was a little tired when she told me about this, and I nearly had to disown her when she messaged me to say "I've just seen the new Sky Wars movie!".

  • Theophilus says: 4 May 2018, 9:35am

Ny favourite star wars memory was in 2015. My brother and I had realised that we never actually fully watched the star wars movies. It was always just in parts when we were both little kids, so we wouldn’t really remember much about it. At this time, The Force Awakens was about to come out. So we decided to binge watch all 6 episodes! We were shocked at how extremely well made the movies were, especially episodes 4-6. It holds up really well even for today’s movies. We are huge sci-fi fans and we really enjoyed it, wondering how we had missed all those movies.

Hope has been a big factor, whether it was an Old Hope (it was my grandfather's first and my Dad's middle name) or A New Hope (the movie, and something I held onto when we went through IVF successfully).
The AT-AT's on Hoth are my first Star Wars memory, followed by watching "The Making of Return Of the Jedi" where they showed how the Speeder Bike scene was filmed with "models" (ie TOYS to six year old me).

Star Wars has always been a part of my life ever since I first saw the original films in the 80's. For me, my favourite memory is every single time I sit down to watch one of the movies. The "A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away..." flashes on the screen and I get goosebumps....and then the first note of the opening score plays and a little tear forms in the corner of my eye.

    I'm home.....

The thing I think of most when I consider the longevity of Star Wars is the Stormtrooper who bashes his head on the blast door as they enter the control room to find C3PO and R2D2 in Episode IV - A New Hope. The fact that it made the cut is testament to the way the original movie was put together. I love that this passion remains today!

Jawa, Greedo, the Ewoks, Yoda, chewie, JarJar Binks, they made the movies wonderful for me when I was a child... and still do. I love the Porgs!
I now collect all the animal characters. Not the silly people ??

  • Brad says: 4 May 2018, 9:43am

The Empire Strikes Back was the first movie I ever saw at a cinema. I was about 4 years old at the time and I remember being ridiculously excited to the point where my parents had to calm me down on the drive to the theatre. I’d never seen a screen that size before let alone a Star Wars movie and when the title showed up along with John William’s magical score I jumped so much at how loud it was that I threw my popcorn and coke all over the people in the row in front on me (this was back in the day when there was an intermission halfway through the film so my dad bought those people snacks as an apology for having to watch a movie drenched in coke).

The most vivid thing I remember about was Yoda scaring the crap out of me when he first appears on screan. I bawled my eyes out and everyone in the theatre started laughing. I’m 41 now but to this very day, every time I watch Empire I laugh when Yoda first appears because I remember how terrified I was of him as a 4 year old. The movie also takes me back to that first cinematic experience whenever I watch it so it holds quite a special place in my heart.

I remember maybe 3 years ago I had never watched a single Star Wars movie, I’d heard of it but I just thought it wouldn’t be my cup of tea.... well I was 100% wrong, I love every single Star Wars movie, me and my partner cannot wait for all the new episodes coming out.

When The Phantom Menace came out, I was sick and bedridden, so I couldn't watch it in the cinemas. My cousin, bless his heart, went and bought me a pirate copy to watch at home. Unfortunately, it was a pirate copy of a premier somewhere, and throughout the movie, it had people screaming and cheering and taking photos with flash of the screen, so I either couldn't hear what was being said, or was being distracted by people screaming 'IT'S YODAAAAAAAA!'.

  • Jeremy says: 4 May 2018, 9:47am

My favourite Star Wars memory has to be when i was 11 after the seeing of RotS and being so juiced up on the Jedi buzz my friend and I spent over four hours practicing our own Anakin and Obi Wan light saber fight!

When Return of the Jedi was out, we went to Cobb & Co with the neighbours and they had someone dressed up as Darth Vader. The neighbours' kid freaked out and burst into tears, and they gave him a big thing of candy to calm him down. I was tough and got nothing. Where is the justice?

Having a Darth Vader helmet toy when I was young. It was so used by everyone who see's and wears it. So much that the helmet reeked of peoples odour and breath smell. Then an uncle came to visit and tried it on and said in a Darth Vader voice... "The force is too strong for this one."

  • caleb says: 4 May 2018, 9:50am

My best memory of the franchise has to be when they first released the force awakens, the experience of a modern and high definition Star Wars film. It just really got me pumped for the future and new films to come! Loved every one since :D

My earliest memory of Star Wars the sparked the obsession I have today was when I was 7yrs (1990) old and my mum got me the vhs of Star Wars a new hope for my birthday. I swear I watched that over and over again until i streached that vhs tape out until it was unplayable. That was a sad day when I couldn’t watch it, now I’m a father of 2 boys who I get to share the same experiences with only in digital (not the same experience as watching on vhs)

  • Colin says: 4 May 2018, 9:53am

My favourite Star Wars memory is pretty recent. But it is when I got tickets for the force awakens midnight screening for my partner and her brothers but didnt tell them. I let them all go to bed and then woke them up at 11pm forced them to get dressed (pardon the pun) and took them to the movies. They were so confused but when they found out what was going on they felt it was worth while!

  • Patricia says: 4 May 2018, 9:53am

So my favorite memory is also my first. My dad had an old VHS with the 3 movies on it. So my first time watching (25ish years ago) was also my first marathon. We had popcorn, snacks and spent all day watching the first three movies. I was hooked ever since and will do anything for Star Wars

As a teenager watching the first star wars movie ever in 1976!!!

  • Rhys says: 4 May 2018, 9:54am

For me, Star Wars wasn’t ever about the films. The prequels came out when I was a teenager, and I’d seen the Original Trilogy – and recognised their inherent superiority – a little earlier. But for me, the immersion came mostly from games: from early memories of X-Wing vs Tie Fighter, to playing out epic Battlefront II space battles with my brother and later, as a retro fix with my best friend at university. I remember adoring the Knights Of The Old Republicgames with their sheer volume of lore: wise-cracking robots, sleek spaceships piloted by brave rogues, traitorous Sith Lords. The films will always be a cultural touchstone (and Episode I, I will always insist, is cruelly underrated). But for me Star Wars means more than who shot first, or doing Chewie impressions. It’s the universe that A New Hope started. And it’s being a kid with my friends, our imaginations fired by a galaxy far, far away

    Long marathon sessions watching ep 4 + 5 + 6!

  • james says: 4 May 2018, 9:57am

But most of all, the film resonated with its audience like no other. It was a combination of the classic hero's journey storyline, the appealing matching of actors to their roles, the immersive world shown on the screen, the merging of the science fiction technology and fantasy of the Force, and the blend of action and humor that appealed to the sense of wonder and fun in everyone's inner child.

The second film in the series The Empire Strikes Back was arguably an even better made film than the first, and the storyline of the series was given dramatic weight by the surprise reveal at the end.

The other films in the Star Wars series continued the storyline and fleshed out the universe, but didn't achieve the cinematic heights of the first two films. But many Star Wars fans still enjoy the ride of the other four films and cling to the hope that the next film in the series will be of the same quality level as the first films.

The first time I saw A New Hope as a kid, staying up past my bed time (with my parents' permission of course!) to watch it on the old Philips K9 in the spare room in the house I grew up in. That room was the farthest from the main source of heating in the house so I was wrapped up in a dressing gown with an old school bar heater going.

My parents have since sold that house and moved elsewhere but I have a lot of fond memories watching movies and playing games in the spare room.

They would stop and start the recording when there was ads so we could watch the whole movie without interruption as a family. It was pretty awesome. They also did it with the big WWF events like Royal Rumble and Summer Slam.

I'd been desperate to watch it, I think it was episode 3, and my parents let me stay up waaaay past my bedtime to watch it. I was fixed to the TV screen the whole time. Anyway, I was tiny and had never stayed up until 11pm before so I remember looking at the clock when the credits finished and going to bed like, wow that was cool. That's what started the star wars obsession. Pretty sure that's what started my Harrison Ford obsession too.

I had a Star Wars duvet cover as a kid, I had no idea what Star Wars was at the time so looking back, it seems weird that I had that. To make things weirder, in a book from my time at preschool it says “my favourite thing is Star Wars”. I didn’t know about Star Wars until I was 10, is this proof of a parallel universe? The Mandela effect? Or perhaps, goblins? We may never know.

I was born the same year as Episode 4 was released and my daughter was born during the rebirth of Star Wars by Disney, sadly this meant my wife was not able to attend the midnight screening (we have attended midnight sessions of all the Disney Star Wars era) of The Last Jedi. Some of my most special memories are seeing The Return of the Jedi with my dad at a cinema that is now a cafe and carpark, and my dad bringing home Empire on VHS at least once a month for years and years.

I owe my taste in film's to my brother who introduced me to star wars when I was just a wee boy. But my favorite Star Wars memory would be when i was about 5 or 6 it was the night before Christmas, I was so freaking excited for the morning that I couldn't sleep! so my brother get's up and hands me one of my wrapped up present's early "like must of been around midnight" I ripped that paper off so bloody fast? but what did I find inside? It was the opening week of Revenge of the Sith back in 2005. I was around 10 years old then and my bestfriend at school asked me if I wanted to watch it with him since we both love Star Wars so I said yes! Our parents accompanied us and we definitely loved the movie. After that, his mum told my mum that she's (friend's mum) glad that my friend still had the chance to see the final Star Wars movie (at that time) since he had stage 4 leukemia. He passed 4 months after the movie came out. We shared a lot of great memories and Star Wars bantering in school so I'm glad I shared one final special moment with him. I know he would have loved to see the new trilogy.

I was playing a game of Star Wars Rebellion with a couple of friends and a massive space fight broke out over the skies of Mon Calamari. A Mon Calamari Cruiser was trading blows with a Star Destroyer while a number of smaller fighters were putting on a light show. Meanwhile nearby the Imperial’s mighty Death Star was preparing to wipe the planet out of existence. As the first round of combat concluded I had one surviving Y-wing and I revealed that I had in fact been waiting for this moment as I turned over the Death Star plans objective card. I rolled 3 dice and got the result I needed to blow up the Death Star. This gave me the necessary advantage I needed to go on and win the game. That imagery of the scene I witnessed while playing this board game will last with me forever, all bought to life by the magic that is the Star Wars universe.

As a young kid, I re-wound the Battle of Hoth over and over again on the Empire Striks Back VHS tape so much, that the tape stopped working after a while. The snow speeders were my favourite vehicle and I loved the winter clothing of the rebels. Not to forget the classic lines of "who's scruffy looking?", "laugh it up fuzzball", "I love you" / "I know", and of course the best plot twist known to man "No, I am your father".

My favourite memory is when I unknowingly wore my Darth Vader shirt to uni and was really baffled as I had all these people staring at me all day... little did I know it was MAY THE FOURTH!! Star Wars fans are everywhere!

  • Tamara says: 4 May 2018, 11:17am

Biggest memory to date would be taking my kids when they were babies to dream world in australia for may the fourth be with you and we done up the buggy as a x wing lol was just a bunch of cardboard boxes but was great haha

  • Rhys says: 4 May 2018, 11:17am

My favourite Star Wars memory was debating with my father that Star Wars and Star Trek are two COMPLETELY different franchises, and that they are not the American and European equivalent to one another.

  • Dale says: 4 May 2018, 11:19am

You know what, actually my best memory was walking into the theatre in Wellington in 1977 to actually watch the first movie (episode 4). And also, not long afterwards my dad got me the soundtrack on 12" LP. I'm not sure where that record got to though... but I've watched everything since, including the Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi at original theatre release, and have almost all of them on BluRay now so all is well in the Universe! :)

  • Elaine says: 4 May 2018, 11:19am

Playing with the original star wars models back in the late 70's in the garden when they had the push out plastic light sabre's in the arm of the models ;-)

  • Richard says: 4 May 2018, 11:20am

So many great family memories. Seeing Star Wars and Empire back to back with my dad. Seeing The Force Awakens at midnight only a few weeks after my son was born (I didn't take him). Seeing The Last Jedi with my mum and both loving it.

  • Simon says: 4 May 2018, 11:21am

My new favourite is a recent one. I never realised just how much of a fan I was until The Force Awakens, when the Millennium Falcon bursts back into life after years of neglect. Genuinely overwhelmed. Shed a tear, even.
Apparently metaphors for my childhood really get me in the feels.

  • Joshua says: 4 May 2018, 11:21am

Watching the Star Wars box set that I got when I was 9, then going out and buying every little Star Wars thing I could find with the limited pocket money I had.

  • Craig says: 4 May 2018, 11:21am

I brought a second hand R2D2 toy from a garage sale and took it home. Stuck some batteries and turned it on. R2D2 started beeping and moving around and my two daughters came running, wondering what was going on. They played with the toy for a good hour. It gave me a new hope that I could convert them to the light side and sit them down to watch all the movies with me.

  • Jennifer & Luke says: 4 May 2018, 11:22am

  • Eric says: 4 May 2018, 11:24am

I think my favorite memory of Star Wars was when the force awakens was released, me and my mates went to a midnight screening of it I had been waiting for a new Star Wars film to be released for a very long time, as soon as the Star Wars logo appeared on screen with the iconic theme song I had tears rolling down my face it was a truly apraxia moment

  • ben says: 4 May 2018, 11:25am

I was 8 years old and very excited when my Dad took me into Auckland city to see The Empire Strikes Back when it first came out. As we left the cinema after the film I vividly remember being upset and arguing with my Dad that Darth Vader was lying to Luke when he said he was his father. The truth hurt too much.

  • Eric says: 4 May 2018, 11:26am

My favourite memory associated with Star Wars believe it or not was my wedding day, my husband pretty much only had one job to do for the wedding which was to organise the walk-in, (he is a huge Star Wars fan) so he ended up organising a Star Wars themed walk-in complete with: Star Wars theme music for the bridal party to walk-in to which changed to Darth vaders theme music when he walked in. There was also glowing lightsabers, smoke machines, fog and lasers. It was awesome! It definitely surprised everyone and has been talked about for years by the guests as the most memorable wedding they've been to.

I had a Darth Vader costume when I was a kid and loved running around in it. I was just a plastic mask with a vinyl like, long body costume that you had to put on like a jersey. Also had a lightsaber that had vents in it so when you swung it around, it made a sound like the lightsabers in the Star Wars movies. In the end it ripped because I got too big for it.

When I was 11 and sitting in the theatre for some movie I do not remember. What I do remember is seeing a trailer for Star Wars Episode II randomly popped up. As soon as the theme blasted over the theatre speaker I jumped out of my seat and just stared at the screen until the trailer was over. I then remember excitedly turning to my folks and exclaiming about how cool it looked :) (The prequels where good to me as a kid, I loved them!)

He turns to me and says (briefly forgetting who this character was) "will you be my Jabba the hutt?" I just looked at him blank faced - trying to hold back my laughter. He'd relised his mistake and started apologising a lot. We've now been together almost 3 years and have a baby on the way ?

  • Edward says: 4 May 2018, 12:42pm

My favourite Star Wars memory was from when I was 10 or 11 years old at a friends birthday party. We crowded in his lounge drinking coca-cola and playing Marvel vs Street Fighter on his mod-chipped Playstation, which then led to watching the beginning of Blade before we were hurried into his family's van. A quick stop at the local KFC to load up on healthy food (not...) and abuse their free refill policy to fill up bottles for the movie and then we were off!

It was my first proper experience of Star Wars and I'll never forget it. Darth Maul was so cool, podracing was the bomb, and I really wanted to get that sweet braid Obi-Wan rocked, but I also couldn't wait to get home to see the movie about the bad ass vampire killer.

I was about 9 years old when I first watched star wars. They were doing a late night marathon of all the star wars films (revenge of the sith had recently come out) on TV. I was allowed to stay up and watch it and I was really into it but it was way past my bedtime and I couldn’t stay awake. I would keep waking up in my bedroom, where my dad would take me every time I fell asleep, and then would stubbornly return to the lounge to continue watching, only to fall asleep 20 minutes later and be returned to my room. It was a cycle.

  • Bailey says: 4 May 2018, 12:58pm

My favorite Star Wars moment was becoming a ID-27881, an official 501st legion member in 2013, and seeing the good that Star Wars can do in others lives. I now have a collection of Six movie accurate imperial costumes, officer, tie pilot, snowtrooper, gunner etc. to live out the motto of "bad guys doing good". I've always been a fan, but for the past 5 years, since becoming a memner, It has enabled me to help fund raise tens of thousands of $ for deserving charities Like Child Cancer Foundation, Ronald McDonald House, and attend awesome events like the Special Childrens Christmas Party. At the end of the day everyone has a memory associated with star wars, and my goal is to help make new awesome memories with costumed appearances, and made kids (and adults) smile :-)

Yub nub! Where do I start. Luging as Star Wars characters was memorable - close to super bombad racing - I'd do it again! Building storm-trooper outfits from scratch.
Star Wars CCG, TCG and LCG. Breaking a finger lightsaber bashing... We would play Star Wars Jedi Outcast Multiplayer at school (12 of us in the computer room at lunch). I found a hack that could let you imperceptibly (no one but you could see it) extend the blade number and length allowing for kills through walls - instant and spawn kills. Yeah, it kind of killed the game for awhile but everyone was in hysterics when they found out. Star Wars Galactic Battlegrounds... The Age of Empires of Star Wars - training Sith and hording AT-ATs. The Phantom Menace for PC took me 2 years to complete as I could never make the jump on the power platforms on Naboo. Battlefront has always been a great party game. Star Wars Galaxies wondering aimlessly through space searching for new missions. But by far the best memory of all - Knights of the Old Republic - the comics and game - when I think Star Wars I think expanded universe... Star Wars is more than just the stories.

My favourite Star Wars related memory would have to be back in 2005 when me and my friends had a full day marathon of episodes 4,5,6,1 and 2 and then went and saw Revenge of the Sith the next day. We were all tired from the day before but it was worth it. We all went and saw The Last Jedi together in December as well!

  • Neil says: 4 May 2018, 1:39pm

Playing the first and true version of Star Wars Battlefront on the PS2 by Pandemic. Definitely my favourite moments came from this game especially trying to figure out how to defeat jedi/sith in galactic conquest when they were immortal. Had a blast using grenades on bespin platforms to make them jump off into the clouds below.

My best memory was when I first got into star wars, I remember when I was really young, maybe 6 or 7 when I was snooping through my Uncles VHS collection and I came across star wars (the original), I had heard of it but at that time did not know much about it. So I stole it from his collection and watched it so many times that I am amazed the VCR did not end up eating the tape. It only got better when I saw Empire and Jedi and it has been an epic journey ever since.

  • Rachel says: 4 May 2018, 1:48pm

It's the first movie I remember seeing with my family

  • Troy says: 4 May 2018, 1:50pm

My whole childhood and teen life, basically.
I have been a massive fan of Star Wars for as long as I can remember. The original trilogy are the first movies I can actually remember REALLY enjoying to the point that I would watch them over and over. Almost every day. Star Wars shaped so many things about me.
It showed me the fight between good an evil, and that almost anyone can be redeemed in one way or another (Han, Lando, Vader). It showed me adventure and whimsey. It showed me that an idea could be more than the sum of its parts, as well as that you can triumph even with the odds stacked heavily against you with a lot of hard work (and a bit of luck).
I had Star Wars everything. It was a massive part of my crircle of friends and of my family. We made fan movies, discussed expanded universe plot points. Hypothesised what happend after Jedi, and saw what came before Hope.
The most memorable part of Star Wars for me was everything about it, because some of my happiest memories growing up involve Star Wars in one way or another.

Star Wars had quite a presence in my childhood - action figures and the old movies and being the right age to enjoy the prequels... I really remember playing Jedi Knight II at a friend's place (90's big-box PC game with giant embossed logo, no digital downloads back then) - wielding the force and a lightsaber felt and looked amazing. Even better was using the dev console to turn on saber-realistic-combat so the Stormtroopers would lose limbs and hobble around briefly like a Monty Python knight.

Definitely my favourite was last year at the Armageddon Expo in Auckland. I took my daughter dressed as Rey and I was dressed as Poe Dameron. Doing that with her was really special. She loves Star Wars (Rey in particular) and it’s become such a method of bonding between the two of us to the point I call her my little Padawan. Tonight we are going to the Stardome’s May the fourth event with her as Rey, me as old Luke and my wife as a rebel pilot. Can’t wait for this and the many more family Star Wars memories to come :))))

When the Force Awakens came out in theatres, I was working in a toy shop. We got all the merchandise and it was all top secret (embargo and all) and very exciting. I worked until the little hours of the morning putting together all the POS and making a huge display. When I came in the next morning I got to open the shop and saw all the children and collectors filter through and admire the display and get so excited about all the new merchandise and the new era of Star Wars movies. It was really heartwarming and cool to see children and adults all get excited about the same thing.

I would wake up at 6.30 in the morning on Saturday and get down to the arcade in town for a $10 unlimited access session and spent 7am-10am playing that game as much as I could. The day they got rid of it for a new machine I cried all day :( never saw that machine again but it was such good dun. The podracing game on PS was my most played game as well. Clocked the game and won the championship with every character (even Subulba despite how much I hated him).

My friend rented "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" on VHS and we watched it 3 times in a row. It was so epic! From that day onward, I've never looked back. Cough* Star Wars nerd alert! excuse me.

I felt like i could be Anakin, race pod-racers, train to be a Jedi and use a lightsaber. And there was Jar-Jar Binks..... i now know that he is a disliked character but when you're 9 years old he was the funniest character! That day my love for Star Wars began!

My favourite memory I associate with Star Wars is of seeing The Force Awakens a few years back. I ended up seeing it 5 times at the movies. That movie brought me back to happy times of discovering Star Wars for the very first time when I was little. I got to see a brand new film that brought back some of munch fave characters and introduce new ones. And it also made me go back and watch and appreciate the prequels too. I think ultimately it was the old but familiar, and the new of Force Awakens that give me the best memories! Thanks MA

My favorite memory of star wars would have to be waiting in line at the movies to watch star wars the Force Awakens and then finally getting to the front of the ques waiting in anticipation to watch it because I had been waiting to watch it for so long and finally getting to the front of the queue and walking in and finding my seat, and as I sat down I felt this feeling of releaf as if I just accomplushed something by booking a movie and I was so excited because it had been so long since the revenge of the sith came out and after I watched it I talked about it for monthes after it came out.

    Best Regards Reece Zimmerman

The Christmas before last, my partner and I were having a stressful time with study, work, and friends. We were both studying over the break and the pressure to keep up with everything was overwhelming. Especially Christmas. Originally, we planned to visit one of her friends for the night near Whangarei. We weren't looking forward to the night's drive due to exhaustion. So, a few days before Christmas, as a treat, we watched Episodes I, II, and III at home, watched Rogue One at the Cinemas, then watched IV, V, VI, and VII at home again over the span of a couple of days. We had snacks and veged out for Star Wars. We thought we deserved the break from the world and I'd do again anytime.

My most special Star Wars memory was as a kid (approx 1979/80), we were at a campground in the Coromandel, they had a film reel of Star Wars, so either 8mm or 16mm film (I have no idea where or how they managed to get that!!) This was been projected in the games room, which was packed full of all the kids in the campground. This was the first time I ever saw Star Wars and I was blown away! life changing stuff for a young kid back then, and the start of a life long Star Wars obsession!

My first memory of Star Wars when I was playing Jedi Knight Academy when was 16 years old. Around that time I had just been diagnosed with Testicular, kidney and lung cancer as well as being bed ridden for 9 months in recovery. Playing Jedi Knight Academy and Republic Commando in my time in hospital gave me a sense of power and accomplishment (as well as the force!) that was taken away from me at that age. At that time, it was the only thing I looked forward to if I was to wake up in the morning. 10 years later, I am still an huge fan now! (Except for The Last Jedi, we don't talk about that...)

  • Daniel says: 4 May 2018, 10:24pm

I remember watching all 3 of the original trilogy back in the mid 80's with my Dad when I was around 6 years old. I was fascinated by the Ewoks and I couldn't wait to meet one in real life, I begged my Mum and Dad something crazy, so much so that they arranged for a friend to dress up as one and come and visit me. He did, and I freaked out! It scared me half to death and I ran off! I don't think the costume was particularly authentic. But bless them for trying.

I recall looking up into the roof of the movie theatre and seeing the stars painted there, glowing just like I was actually there in Space. The sound, the action, the story was something I have never experienced before. I was a die hard fan of Doctor Who on TV and I thought WOW! if this is science fiction action, I want more and more.....After that, Doctor Who was tame, just for kids. Star Wars, different story. Science Fiction for grown up kids....Even Dad loved it!

I never managed to catch any of them in cinemas until the force awakens came out. I got full body chills as the opening sequence came on, blasting that familiar music. Absolute bliss. Took me right back to saturday mornings glued to the tv watching the original trilogy over and over.

We practised for quite a long time learnt lightsaber stance/movement techniques came up with the routine (one part based on the duel in empire strikes back, one part force awakens and one part phantom menace) and had sourced fx replica lightsabers.
