Experience the thrill of whitewater rafting on some of NZ's finest rivers. Whitewater rafting is amazing fun, and is a great way to build relationships, so gather your partner, a few adrenalin seeking friends or workmates (or just yourself if everyone else is too scared!!) and get ready for the adventure of a lifetime! Usually you have around 45 minutes on the water, but allow around 2 hours. Around 15 – 20 minutes of training is provided prior to the trip teaching all the required paddle commands and safety information.
KAITUNA (Grade 5) - $99
The Kaituna River is only 15 minutes from central Rotorua with an adrenalin rush that takes you down the highest commercially rafted waterfall in the world. Fast and furious, this exhilarating ride moves you through foamy water and over the awesome seven metre drop.
Although this trip provides full on action, the river is pool drop meaning that every rapid is followed by calm water making it very forgiving for a Grade 5 river. The Kaituna Grade 5 is a trip that’s not for the fainthearted, but adventurous beginners are welcome.
WAIROA (Grade 5) - $119
Enjoy the thrill of one of New Zealand’s best whitewater rafting trips on the Wairoa River in New Zealand's central North Island.This fantastic rafting adventure offers a stunning rock and tree lined gorge that combines turbulent rapids with exciting drops to produce top White water action.
Perfect for a group outing, the Wairoa rafting trip is situated just off State Highway 29 between Matamata and Tauranga. The Wairoa is a hydro-controlled river, meaning this rafting trip is only available 26 days a year so get in quick! The Wairoa Grade 5 even has a picnic style lunch provided on this trip (Lunch includes a Subway Roll, biscuits, chippies, fruit and orange juice).
