Most complicated piece of flat-pack furniture I've ever dealt with, took me
hours to put together. If I didn't own my own tools I don't think I would
have been able to put the legs on the bottom.
The legs screw into threaded nuts in the wood with a washer and a spring. The
bolts provided aren't long enough to catch the threads with the spring in and
you have to put a lot of pressure on to overcome the spring and catch the
thread. This is doable with a drill or very long screw driver if you have a hex
piece. I have no idea how you would apply the pressure required with the little
Allen keys they provide with this sort of thing. If the bolts were like
1–1.5cm longer this probably wouldn't be an issue. If you're going to get one
then I think a long T-Handled Allen Wrench would be best. If you use a drill
you need a good extension for your hex piece or your drill will be blocked by
the leg.
The detail the pictures of this product aren't showing are the wood-grain
stickers you have to put right on the front of it to cover some screw holes.
Right on the wood panel in front of the little compartment under the mirror so
really front and centre on the thing.
The gas arm that pushes the lid up is really aggressive. Once you open it
past a certain point it moves quite fast so if you had it too close to the wall
it would absolutely put a dent in it. I've got the thing about 9cm out from the
wall to make sure it doesn't do that. There is some adjustment for how much the
lid opens so I could adjust it to be at a right angle but the thing is quite
low so you some angle on the mirror.
Other then all that it seems reasonably solid for what it costs. The mirror
is nice and clear, no warping I could see.
