Description

It is July 2, 1937, and with the threat of war looming, Amelia Earhart takes off from Lae, Papua New Guinea to begin the longest segment of her record-setting flight around the globe. She is never seen again and the mystery of her disappearance has intrigued the world for nearly a century. In the days before the war the world is a very dangerous place. Death and deception are in the air as government agents prowl the shadows and deadly spies extinguish lives for information. It is not a time for the faint of heart. In the present time Kate Darron and Brittany Beardsley, unwilling agents for the secret government agency OSTRO, are given an assignment. Find Amelia Earhart! "But why now after all these years?" Kate asks. "All you need to know is that it is absolutely imperative you find her," their boss answers. The Destiny Project II: Amelia Earhart is an action packed airplane ride across continents and time. A Must Read! Praise for James Wharton's The Destiny Project "It was a page-turner! Well written by a pro. It was also historically correct showing a respect for research." "Sequel please! Get that ole' typewriter a clacking. Your fans await....!" "A cliffhanger! The history was accurate, the writing literate and engaging, and the characters were believable." "Captivating! James Wharton has a great ability to develop his characters around a stirring plot. The Destiny Project was extreme fun!" "Waiting for the sequel! James Wharton writes a fantastic book!"

Author Biography:

James Wharton is an American author of historical fiction, supernatural and humorous novels. Wharton's historical novels are developed on a foundation of factual historical mystery, time travel and supernatural undertones. His humorous novels are loosely based on biographical events and bizarre individuals he has encountered along the way. James Wharton was born on February 22 (the same month and day as George Washington) in St. Louis, Missouri. Wharton traces his lineage to the Revolutionary War with several ancestors serving at Valley Forge. At age 14, Wharton left home to work for three years as a page boy in the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. He spent four years in the U.S. Air Force, one of which was in Southeast Asia in the Viet Nam War. Wharton is an Adjunct Professor of Economics and Marketing. His interest in history and historical fiction is a result of his family background and experience in Washington, D.C. and the military. Wharton has written eleven books and has two others under way at the present time. His web site is jameswharton.net and e-mail is jameswharton1@aol.com. Wharton's favorite quotation is "Those who don't know history are destined to repeat it." (Edmund Burke (1729-1797)
